Water Meets Microfinance

Silviano Valdez – a junior at Earlham College (IN ) – will be presenting his project titled “Vuwa Enterprise”  at TDC’s upcoming 2012 Poverty Action Conference (www.povertyactionconference.org ).

Here is a sneak peek at Silviano’s project:

“Vuwa finances rainwater catchments-storage systems and teaches customers to prevent waterborne diseases. Vuwa has innovated a financial system that embraces the local culture by establishing debt profiles by working with local kiosks, using respected and well networked village elders as loan officers, and offering various payment models.”

If you are a student looking for an opportunity to present your work in the area of global development, we invite you to Register to Present at the 2012 Poverty Action Conference. The deadline is September 21.  See you in October?
